Melissa’s special interests include supporting individuals navigating anxiety, addiction, depression, life transitions, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and play therapy. She welcomes clients of all ages and backgrounds and is passionate about helping individuals build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve meaningful growth. Melissa is a Substance Use Disorder Counselor and Mental Health Counseling Intern. She earned an Associate Degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling from Chippewa Valley Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lakeland University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lakeland University.
Offering in-person and virtual services through our Chippewa Falls office and surrounding areas, Melissa brings nearly two decades of experience working in residential, outpatient, detoxification, and correctional treatment settings. Her approach is humanistic and person-centered, creating a supportive environment where clients feel accepted, empowered, and understood. Melissa utilizes evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychological First Aid, and Tobacco Cessation Counseling. She works collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, overcome challenges, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies and television shows, listening to classic music, working out, reading, and has proudly been a devoted Golden Girls fan since 1985.
